The Source is a full-colour glossy monthly magazine. Covering topics such as Hip-Hop, rap politics and culture. It is the world second largest rap periodical. It was founded in 1988 and has an average reading age of 18-25. The current president of The Source magazine is Jeremy Miller. The most notable part of the magazine’s history is when editor Benzino had a feud with big-time rapper Eminem.  The source has also produced a number of albums such as The Source presents Hip-Hop hits. The magazine features many big time rappers on the front covers such as LudaCris and Lil-Wayne.

Vibe Magazine Fact File

Vibe magazine is a hip-hop and rap magazine. As of 2007 Vibe magazine had a current circulation of 800,000.Each issue of Vibe magazine contains articles on celebrities, fashion, sounds, lifestyle and media. Vibe magazine is published with double covers and is part of the Vibe Lifestyle network. The magazine demographic is 16-25 year olds who are interested in Rap and Hip-hop.
Vibe was started in 1993 in partnership with Time inc. Originally called Volume. Miller publishing bought Vibe in 1996. Next in 2009 Vibe launched a statement saying it was due to close which it did. It was finally brought back after Intermedia Partners LP bought the magazine. In 2012 Vibe’s parent company Vibe holdings merged with BlackBook media in order to form Vibe Media.
